Description:
This laxative is sold without a prescription. The active ingredients of this medication are bile fluid extract titrated to 12.86% cholic acid
(700 mg), extract of beef bile titrated to 48% (m/m) cholic acid (200 mg) and purified water to 500 mg.
Other ingredients are glycerol, aniseed oil, gelatin and caramel colouring (E150).
HOW TO USE RECTOPANBILIN?
This medicine against constipation should not be used before the age of 12. To facilitate the introduction of the suppository, it can be soaked in cold water.
A Rectopanbilin suppository should be taken 5 to 30 minutes before a bowel movement. If the constipation is stubborn, this operation can be repeated after an hour.
To avoid any rectal or anal irritation, the treatment should always be as short as possible.
RECTOPANBILIN AND CONSTIPATION
This medicine should not be used in case of allergy to any of the products in the formula. It may be used occasionally during pregnancy and breastfeeding. On the other hand, a suppository of Rectopanbilin should not be taken in case of haemorrhoids, anal fissure or haemorrhagic rectocolitis.
Management of constipation with Rectopanbilin should be accompanied by dietary measures. It is recommended to drink a lot of water, to provide more fibre in the diet by favouring green vegetables, fruit (preferably cooked) and wholegrain cereals. Physical exercise, such as walking, can also help improve bowel movements.
If constipation is accompanied by intense pain, bloating or fever, it is necessary to consult your doctor.
