Description:

This medication contains 0.12 g of chlorhexidine digluconate. In excipient, it is composed of glycerol, potassium acesulfame, purified water and mint fragrance. There are also in the formula of this solution active ingredients with notable effects such as macrogolglycerol ricinoleate, propylene glucol and azorubin.

Posology:

For the treatment of oral affections, the dosage indicates 1 to 3 mouthwashes of 1 minute per day. For each use, the dose must be measured with the 15 ml measuring container. The mouthwash should be done after the meal and after brushing the teeth.

Precautions for use:

Chlorhexidine 0.12% is a mouthwash solution. It must be used in the pure state without diluting it with water. It should not be swallowed or put in the eyes and nose. This medicine is only indicated for adults and children over 6 years old.

Before using this mouthwash solution, teeth should be brushed thoroughly.

Treatment with this medication is intended for short-term use only, up to 5 days. Long-term use could alter the balance of the oral flora and increase the risk of bacterial or fungal spread. Also, a doctor should be consulted if the symptoms of the condition persist.

Contra-indications :

Chlorhexidine 0.12% is not recommended in case of allergic reaction to any of its components. To avoid its ingestion, this medicine is also forbidden to children under 6 years old.

In case of swelling of the parotid glands, it is preferable to stop the treatment.

SIDE EFFECTS OF USING CHLORHEXIDINE 0.12% MYLAN MOUTHWASH SOLUTION

In general, Chlorhexidine 0.12% causes a brown discoloration of the tongue and teeth during use. This reaction is reversible after stopping the treatment.

In case of hypersensitivity or allergy to any of its active ingredients, this medication causes mucocutaneous irritation or allergic skin reaction such as swelling of the salivary glands.

Occasionally, the use of this mouthwash solution promotes a burning sensation on the tongue and oral mucosa.
