Bloxang hemostatic sponges are used on nasal and dermatological bleeding or in case of dental extraction to stop light to medium bleeding.

In the event of a vascular breach, the body reacts with a protective mechanism that aims to prevent hemorrhaging and to maintain blood inside the blood vessels by repairing the breach in different stages. Primary hemostasis will first aggregate platelets at the site of the breach to seal it, and then coagulation, or secondary hemostasis, forms a clot to decrease bleeding.

Bloxang hemostatic sponges support the hemostasis process and wound care. They act by buffering. Their porous texture allows them to absorb a large quantity of blood.

Bloxang hemostatic sponges are made entirely from purified porcine gelatin. They are completely absorbable. They can be used either dry or saturated with a sterile physiological saline solution

Once the bleeding has stopped, the sponge can be left in place. It will either reabsorb or liquefy

Placed on an oozing wound, the Bloxang sponge constitutes a gel that acts to protect the wound, allowing a painless change of the dressing
