How should I choose my antiseptic?

For open wounds or abrasions, it's best to use an alcohol-free antiseptic to avoid irritating the skin.

For closed wounds (splinters, ingrown toenails, panaritis), use a formula that is easily absorbed by the epidermis.

For pimples (chicken pox, diaper rash), use a colorless drying solution.

For wounds soiled with earth, gravel or sand, use a foaming antiseptic solution or 10-volume hydrogen peroxide before applying a more powerful antiseptic.
