Virpax 50 mg aciclovir tablet is placed on the gum. It comes in the form of a muco-adhesive buccogingival tablet. It should be used as soon as the first symptoms or signs appear.

The recommended dosage is 1 tablet to be stuck directly on the gum once a day, and only once per cold sore episode.
This medication should be used within one hour of the onset of the first signs or symptoms of cold sores
The tablet must not be taken orally (swallowed), as it is a muco-adhesive tablet. Nor should it be sucked or chewed.
When applied to the mucous membrane, the tablet will gradually dissolve over the course of the day, releasing its active ingredients.
