Smectalia stick Lemon Mint 12 sachets is an antidiarrheal oral suspension for adults and children aged 15 and over.
It is indicated for short-term treatment of acute diarrhea, in addition to dietary measures.
Directions for use Smectalia stick Lemon Mint 12 sachets
Start by taking 1 sachet (3 g), then take 1 additional sachet after each new unformed stool, without exceeding the maximum dosage of 6 sachets per day.
In the absence of medical advice, treatment should not exceed 3 days.
To take orally, simply knead the sachet between your fingers before opening it, then swallow the contents, pure or diluted in a little water.
Precautions for use of Smectalia lemon mint against diarrhoea
Smectalia Lemon Mint should not be used if diarrhea is accompanied by high fever, chills or repeated vomiting.
The same applies if:
Stools contain mucus and/or blood, if your diarrhea is accompanied by sudden weight loss (+ 2 kg),
Diarrhea occurs during or after antibiotic treatment,
The subject has a vulnerable background: known heart valve disease, treatment that reduces your body's immune defenses, or
After a recent trip to a tropical country.
Can I take Smectalia sticks if I'm pregnant or breast-feeding?
Smectalia should only be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding on the advice of your doctor.
Hygienic and dietary rules in case of diarrhea and taking Smectalia
Hygienic and dietary measures are important in the event of diarrhea, and are an integral part of treatment. You need to rehydrate with plenty of salty or sweet drinks to compensate for fluid losses due to diarrhea. During diarrhea, your diet should be adapted to your needs, and you should exclude certain foods, particularly raw vegetables, fruit, green vegetables, spicy dishes and iced foods or beverages, in favor of grilled meats and rice.
