Composition

Insect Screen :

  • Family: Icaridin 20%

  • Special Tropics: icaridin (KBR 3023) 25 %.

  • Infested areas: diethyltoluamide (DEET) 50 %.

  • Clothing: permethrin 4 %.

  • Fabrics: permethrin 8 %.

  • Clothing Ticks and Augtists: permethrin 4 %.

Properties

Protects against the bites of arthropods that are vectors of disease (malaria, dengue, Lyme, etc.) and nuisance factors.

  • Insect Screen Special Tropics: particularly active against Anopheles: up to 8 hours of effectiveness at an outdoor temperature of 26 °C (Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene 2004; 98: 644-652).

  • Insect Screen Clothing: impregnates 3 shirts + 1 pair of pants + 2 pairs of socks. Duration of action of 2 months, even after washing in hot water (40 °C) and ironing.

  • Insect Screen Fabrics: impregnates 24m2 of curtains or a double mosquito net, or 2 kg of sheets or cotton clothes (for an adult, about 1 pair of trousers + 4 shirts + 4 pairs of socks + 1 hat), with a duration of action of 2 months, even after washing in hot water (40 °C) and ironing.

  • Insect Screen Clothing Ticks and Augats: protects against mite bites and particularly ticks, including the species that transmits Lyme disease, which is present throughout the French territory, except the Mediterranean border: 100 % of ticks are out of condition to bite in less than 15 seconds of contact with permethrin (J Med Entomol 1986; 23: 396-399), knowing that often the tick seeks several hours a warm place to bite (Medical Clinics North America 2002; 86: 219-238).

Instructions for use

  • Apply Insect Screen Special Tropics, Infested Areas or Family to exposed skin (hands and face).

  • Wear covering clothing (long-sleeved shirt, long pants, socks, hat) impregnated with Insect Screen Clothing or Fabrics: 40% of bites are through clothing (J Econ Entomol 1945; 38: 671-675).

  • Insect Screen Clothing Ticks and Augats: ticks are found on the tops of grasses and tall grass, so shoes, socks, trousers and shirt cuffs should be treated, moistening well. Effective for 2 months, even after washing at 40 °C and ironing.

    1 bottle treats for example 10 pairs of socks and 6 pairs of trousers.

Contraindications

Allergy to the active ingredients.

Insect Screen Infected Areas is contraindicated for children under 12 years old, and for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Insect Screen Special Tropics can be used from the age of 24 months in areas at risk of serious vector-borne diseases.

Insect Screen Clothing products can be used from 2 years and pregnant women.

Precautions for use

  • Insect Screen Infested Areas and Family: avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and skin lesions, as well as with plastics, varnishes, watch glasses and glasses.

  • Products containing permethrin and those containing DEET are toxic to the aquatic environment. Do not flush residues down the drain.

  • Do not inhale. Do not swallow.
