What does Prospan Sugar Free Syrup contain?
The active substance is :
Climbing ivy (dry hydroalcoholic leaf extract) 0.700 g
Per 100 ml of syrup.
The other components are:
Purified water, sorbitol (E420) 70% (crystallizable), cherry flavour*, xanthan gum, potassium sorbate, citric acid anhydrous.
*Composition of cherry flavour: vanillin, benzaldehyde, lemon essential oil, cocoa alcoholate, cherry spirit, raspberry alcoholate.

Dosage
Shake well before use.
Please measure PROSPAN SUGAR-FREE Syrup with the measuring cup.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 5 ml, 3 times daily
Children 6-11 years: 5 ml twice daily
Children 2-5 years: 2.5 ml twice daily. Persistent or recurrent cough in children aged 2 to 4 years requires medical diagnosis before treatment is initiated

Take care with Prospan without sugar, syrup:
Due to the presence of sorbitol, this medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED in cases of fructose intolerance (a rare hereditary disease).
This medicine contains 0.04 meq of potassium per 5 ml of syrup. This should be taken into account by people on a low potassium diet.
Tell your doctor if you have renal insufficiency.
