The drug Cacit Vitamin D3 1000 mg / 880 IU, composed of calcium and vitamin D is used in the elderly, in case of calcium and vitamin D deficiency and in combination with osteoporosis treatments in case of insufficient intake of calcium and vitamin D.

Description:

Cacit Vitamin D3 1000 mg / 880 IU is available in boxes of 30.

One sachet contains 2500 mg of calcium carbonate (amount corresponding to calcium element : 1000 mg) and 880 IU of concentrated cholecalciferol (amount corresponding to vitamin D3 : 22µg).

The other components are: Anhydrous citric acid, malic acid, gluconolactone, maltodextrin, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharin, lemon flavour (sorbitol, mannitol, D-gluconolactone, dextrin, gum arabic, lemon essential oil), rice starch, potassium carbonate, alpha-tocopherol, hydrogenated soya oil, gelatine, saccharose, corn starch.

Excipients: Sucrose, sorbitol, potassium carbonate, hydrogenated soybean oil.

DOSAGE OF CACIT VITAMIN D3 1000 MG / 880 IU

The dosage is 1 sachet per day to be poured into a glass of water. The duration of treatment depends on the doctor's recommendations.

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF CACIT VITAMIN D3 1000 MG / 880 IU

In case of hypersensitivity to vitamin D or to one of its constituents (in particular soybean oil), abnormally high blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia), exaggerated elimination of calcium through the urine (hypercalciuria) or in case of kidney stones (calcium lithiasis), taking Cacit is contraindicated

Some precautions should be taken when using Cacit Vitamin 1000 mg / 880 IU, such as regular monitoring of the amount of calcium eliminated in the urine (calciuria) during prolonged treatments, in the event of additional administration of calcium and vitamin D in high doses, under strict medical supervision, in case of associated treatment with sodium fluoride or bisphosphonate (wait two hours between the two doses of these drugs) and in case of treatment with an antibiotic of the tetracycline family (wait three hours) and finally in case of sarcoid or renal insufficiency.

It is important to remember that one sachet of Cacit Vitamin D3 contains 171.2 mg of potassium, so be careful for patients suffering from renal insufficiency or on a controlled potassium diet. This medicine also contains soybean oil

Foods containing oxalic acid (spinach, rhubarb, sorrel, cocoa, tea, etc.), phosphates (cold cuts, ham, sausages, processed cheeses, dessert creams, cola drinks, etc.) or phytic acid (wholegrain cereals, pulses, oilseeds, chocolate, etc.) should be avoided before taking Cacit Vitamin D3.

Due to the quantity of calcium and vitamin D, Cacit Vitamin D3 is not indicated for pregnant women.
