This non-prescription medication contains aspirin. It is used in children from 15 to 50 kilos to treat headaches, flu, toothache and aches.

Description:

On medical prescription, it is also used in the treatment of certain rheumatic conditions in children from 15 to 50 kg

Each sachet of Aspegic 250mg contains acetylsalicylic acid (250 mg) but also glycine, tangerine flavouring (containing lactose), ammonium glycyrrhizate.

DOSAGE OF ASPEGIC 250MG

The dose of aspirin depends on the child's weight

  • from 15 to 20 kg: 1 sachet every 6 hours without exceeding 4 per day
  • from 21 to 27 kg: 1 sachet every 4 hours without exceeding 6 per day
  • from 28 to 40 kg: 2 sachets every 6 hours, not exceeding 8 per day
  • from 41 to 50 kg: 2 sachets every 4 hours, not exceeding 12 per day

Outside this range, there are other more suitable doses of Aspegic.

The sachets of Aspegic are diluted in a glass of water or fruit juice before the child drinks it, preferably during a meal.

The treatment is limited to 3 days for fever and 5 days for pain. Beyond that, if the symptoms persist, medical advice is necessary to evaluate the treatment.

PREGNANCY AND ASPIRIN

During the first 5 months, only your doctor can judge the need to prescribe aspirin.

From the fifth month onwards, taking Aspegic 250 mg is contraindicated.

Aspirin passes into breast milk which contraindicates its intake during breastfeeding.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE OF ASPEGIC 250MG

Do not give Aspegic 250 to your child if he is allergic to aspirin, NSAIDs, if he has already had an allergic asthma with a drug of the same family, if he suffers from an ulcer, if he has a risk of bleeding or hemorrhage, if he has a cardiac, renal or hepatic pathology, if he has mastocytosis.

Medical advice is necessary in case of rheumatic disease, G6PD deficiency, history of ulcers or bleeding, anticoagulant or anti-inflammatory treatment, in case of viral disease, in particular chickenpox (risk of Reye's syndrome), if your child has to be operated or if he/she takes methotrexate.

Aspegic is contraindicated with many medicines, it is essential to consult the instructions before giving this medicine to your child. In case of doubt, ask your pharmacist or your doctor.
