Corneal edema is a condition characterized by an accumulation of fluid in the cornea. This transparent part of the eye swells and becomes cloudy, causing a decrease in visual acuity. The person affected by corneal edema has the impression that a fog is obstructing their vision. They may be afraid of light (photophobia) and feel pain
The causes of corneal edema are many and varied: trauma, keratitis, Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy, eye surgery, such as cataract treatment or refractive surgery. The cells responsible for pumping fluid out of the cornea malfunction, leading to fluid accumulation in the cornea and edema
ODM 5, from Horus Pharma, is an ophthalmic solution that will reduce corneal edema. Containing sodium chloride, it acts by hyperosmolarity, attracting and retaining liquids outside the cornea. It is also formulated with sodium hyaluronate, which will help heal and protect the cornea
Thus, ODM 5 reduces edema and improves vision comfort for people suffering from this condition.
Directions for use :
- Wash your hands thoroughly
- Slightly pull the lower eyelid and instill 1 to 2 drops 4 times a day into the lower conjunctival sac of the eye, 4 times a day, as recommended by the physician, looking upward.
- After instilling the drops, keep the eye closed for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Avoid contact of the tip of the bottle with the eyelids or eye.
- Do not rinse.
- Ocular use.
- On first use, unscrew the cap after checking the integrity of the ring sealed to the cap. You will hear a small sound corresponding to the tamper evident ring breaking when first opened.
- Replace the cap after each use, ensuring that there is no residual drip from the tip.
- For contact lens wearers: not compatible with contact lenses.
- Can be kept for 3 months after opening
- If the doctor has prescribed another eye drop, respect a minimum interval of 15 minutes between the instillation of these eye drops and the other eye drop.
