Description:

It is used in the antisepsis of surgical or traumatic wounds, in certain skin diseases with infection, or for the antisepsis of healthy skin before minor surgery.

The active ingredient of Septeal is chlorhexidine digluconate while its excipients are: ethyl alcohol at 95 per cent v/v, purified water. It should not be used if you are allergic to any of them.

Septeal should be used undiluted on the skin with a compress twice a day. It is not necessary to rinse it off.

It cannot be used to disinfect equipment or the operating field and must not be mixed with other antiseptics.

Septeal should not be used on pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants, in the eyes, ears or on mucous membranes. Head wounds or deep wounds on the arm or leg should not be treated with this antiseptic as it should not be used on the brain or nerves.
