Description

This drug is recommended in chronic inflammatory conditions of the upper respiratory tract such as chronic rhinitis and rhinopharyngitis.

Pharmacotherapeutic class :

  • Pharmacotherapeutic Class: OTHER RHUMA MEDICINES.

Precautions and warnings :

  • Take care with ACTISOUFRE, solution for nasal-oral spray in pressurised bottle in the following cases:
    By mouth and in case of low-salt diet, take into account the sodium intake which is 4.2 mg of sodium per spray (i.e. 0.18 mmol of sodium-spray).
    100 ml of solution provides 378 mg of sodium (i.e. 16.4 mmol of sodium-100 ml).
    The presence of sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate is likely to cause an allergic reaction of delayed hypersensitivity in subjects sensitive to preservatives of the parahydroxybenzoate family (and their derivatives).

Pregnancy and lactation:

  • Taking the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
    Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication.

Composition:

Notable excipients: Sodium (as chloride and saccharin),
Sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219),
Active ingredients:
Sodium monosulfide
Amount corresponding to sodium sulfide ................ 13.00 mg
Saccharomyces cerevisiae type D* .......................... 500,00 mg
For one bottle of 100 ml.

Other substances: Saccharin sodium, polysorbate 80, sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219), 20% chlorhexidine digluconate solution, sodium chloride, Neroli A compound oil (petitgrain bigaradier and sweet orange essential oils, geraniol, terpineol, linalool, methyl anthranylate, phenylethyl alcohol, geranyl acetate), purified water

Directions for use:

  • Dosage
    Nasal
    Adults and children
    One prolonged spray* in each nostril 3 times daily, with the head tilted back.
    Infants
    One spray in each nostril, twice daily.
    *The time for one spray is estimated to be 2 to 3 seconds for each nostril.
    Administration should be done while the infant is lying on his or her side or sitting up when the infant is old enough to sit, with the head tilted to the side, to avoid laryngospasm.
    Insert the nozzle into the nostril and spray firmly.
    Repeat for the other nostril, tilting the head to the other side.
    Do not:
    Never spray the nose when the infant's head is backwards, to avoid the liquid going down the throat.
    Orally
    One spray, 3 times a day, directly into the oral cavity, then swallow.
    Sodium intake: 4.2 mg sodium per spray (0.18 mmol sodium-spray).
    For hygienic reasons, clean the nasal or oral tip after each use.
    IN ALL CASES, COMPLY STRICTLY WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN'S ORDER.

    Method of administration
    Insert the nasal (short tip) or oral (long, right-angled tip) tip according to the route of administration used (see diagram)
    Insert either the nasal or oral tip into the nostril or mouth cavity and apply pressure to deliver a dose of product.
    During each spray, hold the bottle either upside down or down to avoid excessive consumption of propellant.

In case of overdose:

  • If you have used more ACTISOUFRE, nasal/oral spray solution in pressurised bottle than you should have:
    Tell your doctor or pharmacist.

If you miss one or more doses :

  • If you forget to use ACTISOUFRE, nasal/oral spray solution in a pressurised bottle:
    Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you forgot to take.
    If you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Storage conditions:

  • Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
    Pressurised container:
    The container contains a pressurised liquid. Do not expose to temperatures above 50°C. Do not puncture the container.

Contraindications:

  • Never use ACTISOUFRE, solution for nasal/oral spray in pressurised bottle:
    - if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the constituents of the product and in particular to sulphur contained in ACTISOUFRE, solution for nasal/oral spray in pressurised bottle.

Possible interactions:

  • Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medication, even one obtained without a prescription

Adverse reactions:

Like all medicines, ACTISOUFRE nasal/oral spray solution in pressurised bottle is likely to have side effects, although not everyone is susceptible.
Gastralgia may occur with the oral solution.
