Bailleul Fincrezo Finasteride topical 2.275 mg/ml hair loss 18 ml is intended for the topical treatment of adult men aged 18 to 41 with mild to moderate androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness).
Finasteride is a selective, competitive inhibitor of type II 5α-reductase. It thus inhibits a process responsible for the miniaturization of hair follicles in the scalp, which can lead to a reversal of the hair loss process.
Because of the risk of teratogenicity to male foetuses, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not come into contact with Fincrezo, the scalp or surfaces exposed to the drug. Wash thoroughly any part of the body that has come into contact with the solution.
Fincrezo contains 96% ethanol and is therefore flammable. It should not be sprayed near open flames or when the patient is smoking.

The bottle can be kept for 6 months after first opening. It should not be used beyond 180 sprays, i.e. 45 days with 4 sprays a day, 60 days with 3 sprays a day, 90 days with 2 sprays.
FINCREZO should only be applied to balding areas of men's scalps.
The scalp must be healthy and the hair completely dry before spraying the solution.
Furthermore, this treatment must not be used at the same time as other medications applied to the scalp.
Before using FINCREZO for the first time, the patient must :
- assemble the bottle with attached metering pump and cone supplied in the box;
- prime the pump by making 4 complete sprays (pointing the cone towards the washbasin).
The pump should also be reprimed with 1 full spray after 2 weeks without use.
One bottle should be used within 6 months of first use.
Depending on the surface of the balding area, the recommended dosage is 1 to 4 sprays once a day on balding areas of the scalp. The dose prescribed for the balding area should not exceed 4 sprays.
Each spray should be applied to separate, non-overlapping areas. Fingertips should not be used for application.
One bottle contains up to 180 sprays, enough for :
- for 45 days' treatment at a maximum dose of 4 sprays once a day ;
- for 60 days' treatment at 3 sprays once a day;
- for 90 days' treatment at 2 sprays once a day;
- for 180 days of treatment with 1 spray once a day.
When spraying the scalp, the cone should be pressed against the scalp to prevent finasteride dispersing into the air. If necessary, the cone should be moved to another bald area to apply another spray (up to 4 in all), without overlapping the first area.
Immediately after application, the patient should avoid contact between the treated scalp and surfaces (pillows, helmets, hats, etc.) until the solution has dried.
Once applied, FINCREZO should remain in place for at least 6 hours.
Continued use is recommended to maintain treatment benefits.
The effectiveness and duration of treatment should be constantly assessed by the treating physician. In general, 3 to 6 months of treatment applied once a day are required before hair growth can be expected.
If treatment is stopped, the beneficial effects will begin to reverse within 6 months, and a return to the initial state will be observed within 9 to 12 months.
Fincrezo's 1 x 18 ml spray can contains a cone-shaped applicator, to be assembled before first use. Listed on List I, Fincrezo (CIP: 34009 302 929 6 9) is not reimbursed by Social Security.
