Omeprazole Mylan Conseil 20 mg 14 capsules is indicated for the short-term treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (e.g. heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults (aged 18 and over).
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the backflow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus, which can become inflamed and painful. This can lead to symptoms such as aburning sensation in the chest extending up to the throat (pyrosis) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid regurgitation).
Acid reflux and heartburn may disappear after one day's treatment with Omeprazole Mylan Conseil 20 mg, gastro-resistant capsule. However, this medicine is not intended to provide immediate relief. It may be necessary to continue treatment for 2 or 3 consecutive days to improve symptoms
Dosage Omeprazole Mylan Conseil 20 mg 14 capsules
For adults only (18 years and over).
The recommended dose is 1 capsule per day.
It is recommended to take OMEPRAZOLE MYLAN CONSEIL before the meal:
- in the morning, if symptoms predominate during the day
- in the evening, if symptoms predominate during the night
It may be necessary to take the treatment for 2 or 3 consecutive days for symptoms to improve.
Method of administration
Oral administration
- Swallow the capsule whole with a sufficient quantity of liquid (e.g. a glass of non-carbonated water), before the morning or evening meal.
- Capsules should not be chewed or crunched, as they contain film-coated granules which prevent the drug from being destroyed by stomach acid. It is important not to damage the granules contained in the capsules. These micro-granules contain the active substance omeprazole and are gastro-resistant. This protects them from degradation as they pass through the stomach. The granules release the active substance into the intestine, where it is absorbed by your body to produce its effect.
If you have difficulty swallowing the capsules :
- Open them and disperse the contents in a spoonful of water or a glass of water (non-carbonated water), slightly acidic fruit juice (orange, apple or pineapple juice) or applesauce.
- Always stir before drinking (the mixture will not be homogeneous). Then drink the mixture immediately or within 30 minutes.
- Make sure you've drunk all the medicine, then rinse the glass well with half a glass of water and drink it. Do not use milk or sparkling water. Do not chew or crunch.
Frequency of administration
Take once a day.
Duration of treatment
Treatment with Omeprazole Mylan Conseil should not exceed 14 days. If pain persists or worsens after 14 days, consult your doctor.

Contraindications
Never take Omeprazole Mylan Conseil 20 mg
- if you are under 18 years of age
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of Omeprazole Mylan Conseil 20 mg (see section 6.)
- if you are taking a medicine containing nelfinavir (used in the treatment of HIV infection)

Precautions for use
Omeprazole Mylan Conseil may mask the symptoms of other diseases; ask your doctor before taking Omeprazole Mylan Conseil if :
- your symptoms are accompanied by unintentional weight loss (not related to diet or exercise),
- you suffer from swallowing disorders,
- you suffer from persistent stomach pain or digestive problems,
- you vomit food or blood,
- your stools are black,
- you have severe or persistent diarrhea,
- you are suffering from stomach pain for the first time, or it has recently worsened,
- you have previously suffered from a gastric ulcer or have undergone stomach surgery,
- you have liver problems or jaundice (jaundice, yellowing of the skin and eyes),
- you have been on continuous symptomatic treatment for indigestion or heartburn for 4 weeks or more,
- you are over 55 years of age and are taking over-the-counter indigestion medication on a daily basis,
- you are over 55 and have symptoms that are new or have recently changed,
- if you have ever developed a skin reaction after treatment with a drug similar to Omeprazole Mylan Conseil which reduces gastric acid.
If you develop a skin rash, particularly in sun-exposed areas, consult your doctor Oméprazole Mylan Conseil. Don't forget to mention any other adverse effects, such as joint pain.
