Vicks Expectorant Sirop Toux grasse 180 ml is recommended for adults and children aged 15 and over in the event of recent respiratory ailments with difficulty in expectoration (difficulty in coughing up bronchial secretions). Its active substance is guaifenesin, at 1.333 g per 100 ml.
It comes in the form of a honey-flavored syrup, administered orally.
Directions for use Vicks Expectorant Sirop Toux grasse 180 ml
Vicks Expectorant Guaïfénésine is intended for adults and children over 15 years of age.
The recommended dose is 1 to 2 tablespoons, 3 to 4 times a day (morning, noon and evening, between meals).
Shake bottle before use, and take at least 4 hours apart.
Do not exceed 2 tablespoons per dose (i.e. 30 ml syrup) and 8 tablespoons (i.e. 120 ml syrup) per day
Do not prolong treatment beyond 5 days without medical advice. If there is no improvement, consult a doctor.
Do not take any cough suppressant or bronchial secretion drying medication while taking guaifenesin.
This medicine is not recommended for patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary diseases)
This medicine contains 5.55 g of sucrose per tablespoon (15 ml), which must be taken into account in the daily ration in the case of a low-sugar diet or diabetes
This medicine contains sodium; the sodium content is less than 1 mmol per tablespoon (15 ml)
This medicine contains 5.208% ethanol (alcohol) by volume, i.e. up to 632 mg per 15 ml tablespoon, equivalent to 15.6 ml beer or 6.5 ml wine per dose. The use of this drug is dangerous in alcoholic subjects and must be taken into account in pregnant or breast-feeding women, children and high-risk groups such as liver failure patients or epileptics.
During treatment, consult your doctor if you develop a fever, if your condition worsens or if there is no improvement after 5 days.
