The tear film that covers the ocular surface has a rather complex structure. It consists of a thin outer lipid layer that prevents tears from evaporating too quickly. Beneath this layer lies the so-called aqueous layer, which plays an important role in supplying oxygen and nutrients to the cells of the ocular surface. The even distribution of tears over the eye is guaranteed by the inner layer of the tear film, made up of a mucous layer called the mucin layer, in direct contact with the cells of the cornea and conjunctiva.

Hyaluronic acid - the guarantor of optimal hydration

Hyaluronic acid, a molecule naturally produced by the human body, is ideal for long-lasting, intense hydration of the eye. Thanks to its chemical structure, hyaluronic acid can attract and bind several times its weight in water. It adheres perfectly to the ocular surface, forming an even, stable moist film.
