Synovial fluid is a viscous substance found in the spaces between our joints. This fluid lubricates joint tissues, reducing friction between cartilage and joints. It also provides protection against shocks during movement.
In the case of gonarthrosis(osteoarthritis of the knee), the quantity of synovial fluid is reduced, leading to pain and reduced mobility. Arthrum contains sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid). Intra-articular injection replaces and supplements the elastoviscosity of pathological synovial fluid in arthritic joints.
The therapeutic indications are all types of painful gonarthrosis: an injection reduces pain and facilitates movement for several weeks or months. The procedure must be performed by a specialist.
Arthrum visc 75 should only be injected by a healthcare professional.
It is recommended to remain at rest for 24 hours following injection, and to limit sporting activities.
Pain may occur within 48 hours of injection. In this case, an ice bladder may be applied for a few hours.
Arthrum visc 75 should not be injected outside the joint cavity, into the synovial tissue or capsule, or in cases of heavy effusion. It must not be used in the event of allergy to sodium hyaluronate, or to any of the components contained in this medical device.
Do not use quaternary ammonium (benzalkonium chloride) for skin disinfection during injection.
Arthrum Visc 75 Mono injection should be stored in a dark place at between 2 and 30°C.

1 intra-articular injection into the knee. A second injection may be given between the first and third month if the patient's painful symptoms warrant it.
For single use only. Syringe and needle must be disposed of immediately after use, in a special single-use waste container.
