Movicol Lemon flavour 20 sachets

Movicol arôme Citron 20 sachets is a medicine in powder form for drinkable suspension. It is an osmotic laxative indicated for the treatment of symptoms of constipation andfecal impaction in adults. Fecal impaction manifests itself as an accumulation of fecal matter in the rectum, with no evacuation for several days.

Instructions for use Movicol arôme Citron 20 sachets

How many sachets should you take?
If you are taking MOVICOL AROME CITRON to treat constipation: the usual dose is 1 to 2 sachets a day, preferably taken as a single dose in the morning.
Elderly people do not usually need to take more than 1 sachet a day.
If you are taking MOVICOL AROME CITRON to treat faecal impaction: the usual dose is 8 sachets per day (4 sachets in the morning and evening, in 2 doses).
Method of administration
This medicine is for oral use.
To use this medicine, please follow these instructions:
- Open the sachet.
- Pour the contents of the sachet into the container Pour the contents of the sachet into a glass of water.
- Mix the powder with a clean spoon until the mixture becomes clear.
- Swallow the mixture.
- The mixture can be stored in a closed container in the refrigerator for 6 hours.
Duration of treatment
In the case of constipation, MOVICOL AROME CITRON takes effect 24 to 48 hours after administration.
In the case of faecal impaction, you should take this medicine until satisfactory evacuation of accumulated faeces has been achieved. The average duration of treatment is 1 to 3 days.

Contraindications
Never take MOVICOL AROME CITRON:
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active ingredients (e.g. macrogol), or to any of the other components of MOVICOL AROME CITRON listed in section 6
- If you suffer from severe inflammatory bowel or colon disease.
- If you have abdominal pain of undetermined cause, or if you may be suffering from an intestinal obstruction (blockage of material in part of the intestine).

Precautions for use
Be careful with MOVICOL AROME CITRON:
- Your doctor may decide to interrupt your treatment if you show signs of a change in the quantity of mineral salts and water in your body (in particular, in the event of dehydration or episodes of cardiac insufficiency).
- MOVICOL SANS AROME may reduce the absorption of other medicines (see Taking or using other medicines).
- One of the active ingredients in this medicine is macrogol (also known as polyethylene glycol). Very rare allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, swelling) have been reported with products containing polyethylene glycol. If any of these signs occur, contact a doctor immediately.
- If you are on a salt-free or salt-restricted diet, take into account the sodium content; each sachet contains 190 mg sodium.
- This medicine contains 26.38 mg potassium per sachet, so tell your doctor if you have renal insufficiency.

The efficacy and safety of MOVICOL CITRON AROME in the treatment of faecal impaction have not been studied.

Notable excipients: each sachet contains 186.87 mg sodium and 26.38 mg potassium. Other components of Movicol Lemon Flavor are lemon flavor and acesulfame potassium. Lemon flavor is composed of vegetable gum (E414), maltodextrin, lemon essential oil, lime essential oil, citral and citric acid (E330).
