Description Ciclopirox 8% varnish Mylan 3 ml

ANTIFUNGALS FOR TOPICAL USE.

CICLOPIROX MYLAN 8%, medicated nail polish is intended for the treatment of mycosis (onychomycosis) of the nails of the feet and hands (fungal diseases). The active substance, ciclopirox, penetrates the nail and destroys the fungi.

Posology

External use only.

This medicine is for adults only.

Before starting treatment with CICLOPIROX MYLAN :

- remove as much of the diseased nail tissue as possible with scissors, nail clippers or a nail file.

Throughout treatment:

- Apply a thin layer of CICLOPIROX MYLAN 8%, medicated nail polish over the entire surface of all diseased nails once a day, preferably in the evening.

- Avoid brushing your nails with soap that is too alkaline after applying the product.

- At least once a week, before applying CICLOPIROX MYLAN, remove the nail polish layer with a commercial nail polish remover.

- Avoid using cosmetic nail polish.

Duration of treatment

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the infection.

The minimum duration of treatment is 3 months (finger fungus) and should not exceed 6 months (toe fungus).

In case of doubt about the continuation of the treatment, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Mode and way of administration

Cutaneous route.

Warnings and precautions

- Do not swallow.

- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes until CICLOPIROX MYLAN is dry.

- CICLOPIROX MYLAN should only be used topically.

- Do not apply ordinary nail polish or other nail cosmetics to treated nails.

- If an allergic reaction occurs, stop treatment and contact your doctor.

- If you have several nails to treat or if you have diabetes or an immune disease, contact your doctor, you may need additional oral treatment.

For 100 g of medicated nail polish.

- The other components are:

Ethyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol, butyl ester of methyl vinyl ether-maleic acid copolymer.
