Description:

DOSAGE OF ADVIL 400 MG

The usual dosage in case of fever or pain is to take one 400mg tablet per dose, repeated if necessary every 6 to 8 hours, without exceeding 3 400mg tablets per day (i.e. 1200mg per day).

It is advisable to use the lowest possible dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.

The duration of treatment should be 3 days for fever and 5 days for pain. If you are not relieved by Advil 400 mg or even if your condition worsens, you should consult your doctor

In case of migraine, the Advil 400 mg tablet should be taken as soon as possible but a second dose should not be taken during the same attack. However, it can be treated with another treatment that is not a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or aspirin.

The duration of treatment for migraine should not exceed 3 days

The tablets should preferably be taken with a meal and swallowed with a glass of water.

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF ADVIL 400 MG

Concomitant use of other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin or its derivatives is contraindicated

Advil 400 mg is also contraindicated in patients with kidney, heart, or liver disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal or cerebral hemorrhage, history of allergic asthma, risk of bleeding, chronic malnutrition, dehydration, or viral disease including chickenpox.

Advil 400 mg is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is even contraindicated in pregnant women after 5 months of pregnancy. In addition, this medication may affect your fertility

If you have a current treatment you must always inform your doctor or pharmacist. Some medications are contraindicated with ibuprofen such as methotrexate, serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressants, anticoagulants, antiplatelet aggregators, pemetrexed, corticosteroids, lithium, ciclosporin, and tacrolimus.

Taking Advil 400 mg tablets may change some biological results such as sedimentation rate, blood sugar, and blood uric acid.

Ibuprofen, like all medications, can cause side effects. This does not mean that all people taking Advil 400 mg will have these events. For your information, the most common ones are diarrhea, stomach pain, and skin rash

Taking ibuprofen may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. The higher the dose and the longer the duration of treatment, the greater the risk.
