This medication should not be used in case of severe liver disease.
Paracetamol is present alone or in combination with other substances in many medicines: be sure not to take several medicines containing paracetamol at the same time, as taking them together may lead to an overdose which may be toxic to the liver.
In case of treatment with an oral anticoagulant and paracetamol at maximum doses (4 g/day) for at least 4 days, increased monitoring of anticoagulant therapy may be necessary.
The scientific studies currently available have not highlighted any particular problem when using paracetamol in pregnant women.
At usual doses, the use of this drug is possible during breastfeeding.
This drug may be taken either during or between meals, respecting an interval of 4 to 6 hours between 2 doses. In case of renal insufficiency, the interval between two doses should be at least 8 hours.

The 500 mg tablets are intended for adults and children weighing more than 27 kg.
1 g effervescent tablets are intended for adults and children weighing more than 50 kg.
Adult and child over 50 kg: 500 mg to 1 g, 1 to 3 times daily. Do not exceed 3 g of paracetamol per day without medical advice.
In severe pain in adults and particularly in osteoarthritis, the maximum dosage may be increased to 1 g of paracetamol, 4 times a day, only on medical prescription.
Children: 60 mg per kg per day, i.e. 15 mg per kg every 6 hours, or 10 mg per kg every 4 hours. It is necessary to choose a suitable presentation and to follow the recommendations of your pharmacist or doctor. The following dosages are given as a guide:
Children from 13 to 20 kg (approximately 2 to 7 years): 1/2 effervescent tablet at 500 mg, 1 to 4 times a day;
Children from 21 to 26 kg (approximately 6 to 10 years): 1/2 effervescent tablet 500 mg, 1 to 6 times daily;
Child 27 to 40 kg (about 8 to 13 years): 1 tablet of 500 mg (effervescent or not), 1 to 4 times a day.
Children 41 to 50 kg (approximately 12 to 15 years of age): 1 x 500 mg tablet (effervescent or not), 1 to 6 times daily.
The maximum daily dose of paracetamol for children is 80 mg per kg, in a minimum of 4 doses, without exceeding 3 g per day.
In the treatment of fever in children, when paracetamol is used at a dose of 60 mg per kg per day, the addition of aspirin or its use in alternation with paracetamol is useless, as aspirin does not provide additional fever reduction.
Heavy sweating usually accompanies the drop in temperature when treating high fevers. This is normal.
