Ideos 500 mg / 400 IU contains 500 mg of calcium per tablet, i.e. 1250 mg of calcium carbonate, 400 IU of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) or 4 mg of cholecalciferol concentrate (powdered form).
The other components are Xylitol, sorbitol, povidone, magnesium stearate, lemon flavouring (flavouring preparations natural flavouring substances, maltodextrin, gum arabic, sodium citrate, citric acid, butylated hydroxyanisole), alpha-tocopherol, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, gelatin, sucrose, corn starch.
Ideos 500 mg / 400 IU contains 4 tubes of 15 tablets.
DOSAGE OF IDEOS 500 MG / 400 IU
Ideos should be taken by adults only, 2 tablets per day. The dosage should be taken as recommended by your doctor.
CONTRAINDICATIONS OF THE DRUG IDEOS 500 MG / 400 UI
Ideos 500 mg / 400 IU is contraindicated in cases of allergy to vitamin D, peanuts or soy, or to any of the other components contained in this medication. In addition, excess calcium in the blood or urine, kidney disease, kidney stones or hypervitaminosis D also contraindicate its use.
If you find yourself in one of the following situations, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist, particularly in the case of prolonged immobilisation, high intakes of calcium and vitamin D, or in people with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary diseases), as Idéos 500 mg / 400 IU contains sugars. If you have sarcoidosis or kidney disease (kidney failure), it is important to tell your doctor.
Ideos 500 mg /400 IU may interact with other medicines, in particular with digitalis medicines (for certain heart diseases) because they may cause more side effects, biphosphonates or medicines containing strontium (against osteoporosis), thiazide diuretics (against high blood pressure or swelling called oedemas) because they may increase the amount of calcium in the blood, or antibiotics of the tetracycline family (against infections caused by bacteria). Be particularly careful with medicines or supplements containing vitamin D, iron or zinc, estramustine (to treat certain prostate cancers) as IDEOS may reduce its effect, thyroid hormones used in the case of thyroid disease and orlistat (used in the treatment of obesity) as it may reduce the amount of vitamin D absorbed by the body.
Taking Ideos with medications containing iron or zinc, biphosphonates (for osteoporosis), estramustine, thyroid hormones should be done with an interval of 2 hours and 3 hours in case of treatment with an antibiotic of the tetracycline family (for infections caused by bacteria).
In addition, Ideos may also interact with certain foods containing oxalic acid (spinach, rhubarb, sorrel, cocoa, tea...), phosphates (cold cuts, ham, sausages, processed cheese, dessert creams, cola drinks...) or phytic acid (whole grains, pulses, oil seeds, chocolate...) and Ideos should be taken at a distance from these foods.
This medicine can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, you should not exceed 1 tablet per day.
