Description:
Timoferol is available in boxes of 30 or 90 capsules, with the following composition for one capsule:
Dried ferrous sulphate ........................................... 172.73 mg
Corresponding amount of iron .................................... 50.00 mg
Ascorbic acid ......................................................... 30.00 mg
Excipients: Light magnesium carbonate, talc, colloidal anhydrous silica (Aerosil 200), maize starch, gelatine, titanium dioxide (E171), patent blue V (E131), quinoline yellow (E104).
DOSAGE:
As part of the curative treatment, the dosage is 2 to 4 capsules per day, in adults and children over 12 years
In pregnant women, the preventive treatment consists of 1 capsule per day during the last two trimesters of pregnancy (from the 4th month).
To improve its bioavailability, Timoferol should be taken on an empty stomach in the morning (away from tea) or before breakfast, to be adapted according to its digestive tolerance.
The duration of treatment must be sufficient to correct the anaemia, at a rate of 3 to 6 months and in compliance with your doctor's prescription. A control of the treatment is carried out 3 months later to check its effectiveness.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
In case of iron overload, especially in certain forms of anaemia (thalassaemia, refractory anaemia, anaemia due to bone marrow failure), taking Timoferol is contraindicated.
Timoferol should not be taken in the case of anaemias related to inflammatory diseases. For this reason, a medical consultation is necessary before starting this treatment in order to find the cause of the anaemia.
The administration of Timoferol is permitted in the case of pregnancy and breastfeeding, however, it is necessary to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
