Vaseline Gomenol 5% 15 g

Vaseline gomenolae 5% ointment is a drug recommended in the treatment of post-traumatic scabby rhinitis, and post-operative care of endonasal surgery in adults and children over 6 years

Its active substance is the natural essential oil of Niaouli (Melaleuca quinquenervia (Cav.) S.T.Blake), dosed at 5 g per 100 g of ointment

Its other component is Vaseline

Before applying the ointment, it is necessary to blow the nose

The generally recommended dosage for adults is 1 to 3 applications per day of a small amount of ointment in each nostril

For children over 6 years of age, it is 1 application per day of the same small amount of ointment in both nostrils

Regarding the duration of treatment, it is always advisable to limit its use to the shortest period possible.

This ointment should not be used in children under 6 years, and in children with a history of convulsions (due to fever or not), due to the presence of terpenes (essential oil of niaouli)

It should not be used in the event of a history of allergy to one of its constituents

Vaseline Gomenolae 5% Ointment contains terpenes (niaouli essential oil) which may cause, when used in excessive doses, accidents such as convulsions in infants, young children and children, but also respiratory pauses and serious illnesses in infants.

If you have a history of epilepsy, you should seek advice from your doctor

It is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you have recently or are currently taking, even if they are obtained without a prescription.

It is best not to use Vaseline Gomenol 5% Ointment while breastfeeding.

Always ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication
