Description

This drug is recommended in chronic inflammatory conditions of the upper respiratory tract: chronic rhinitis and rhinopharyngitis.

Pharmacotherapeutic class :

  • This drug provides sulfur and yeast in the form of sodium monosulfide nonahydrate and saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Precautions and Warnings:

  • Be careful with ACTISOUFRE 4 mg-50 mg per 10 ml, oral suspension or for nasal instillation:
    By mouth and in case of low salt diet, take into account the sodium intake which is about 37 mg per ampoule.
    In case of doubt do not hesitate to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding :

  • In general, it is advisable during pregnancy or breastfeeding to always seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist before using any medication.

Composition:


Active ingredients:
Sodium monosulfide nonahydrate .............................. 4.0 mg
Saccharomyces cerevisiae* ........................................ 50.0 mg
For one 10 ml ampoule.
*Levures.

Other substances: Sodium saccharin, polysorbate 80, Neroli compound essence*, sodium chloride, purified water q.s.
*Composition of Neroli compound essence: essential oils of petitgrain bigaradier and sweet orange, geraniol, terpineol, linalool, methyl anthranylate, phenylethyl alcohol, geranyl acetate.

Directions for use:

  • By nasal route:
    Two nasal irrigations per day.
    By oral route:
    - Children under 5 years: half to one ampoule per day.
    - Adults and children over 5 years: 2 ampoules per day.
    If you feel that the effect of ACTISOUFRE 4 mg-50 mg per 10 ml, oral suspension or nasal instillation is too strong or too weak: consult your doctor or pharmacist.
    - Shake the ampoule before opening it.
    - The possible aggregate that may remain is not active. It is formed by the walls of yeast that have previously released their soluble components (yeast extract rich in vitamins, trace elements, etc.) into the ampoule. This residual aggregate does not alter the activity of the product.
    - When the ampoule is opened, the smell is a mixture of sulphur and orange blossom essence.
    " ATTENTION: ACTISOUFRE ampoules are self-breakable. To open an ampoule, take a point between the thumb and forefinger and, with a sharp movement, provoke the rupture. Present the opened ampoule over the dropper bottle or a glass, and repeat the same operation on the second tip. "
    By nasal route:
    - Remove the tip of the dropper bottle.
    - Fill the bottle with the contents of an ampoule.
    - Stand in front of a washbasin, tip your head back and pour ACTISOUFRE into one nostril by pressing firmly on the dropper bottle. Breathe in through your mouth, repeating the syllable "ké".
    - Leave the product in contact with the secretions for a few moments (about half a minute).
    - Repeat until the contents of the dropper bottle have been used up.
    - Repeat the same operation for the other nostril.
    - Rinse the bottle thoroughly under running water and dry it carefully.
    By mouth:
    Dilute the contents of one ampoule in a little water, to be taken with a meal.
    Always follow the dosage indicated by your doctor. In case of uncertainty, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

In case of overdose:

  • If you have taken more ACTISOUFRE 4 mg-50 mg per 10 ml, suspension for oral or nasal instillation than you should have:
    Consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

If you miss one or more doses :

  • If you forget to take ACTISOUFRE 4 mg-50 mg per 10 ml, oral suspension or for nasal instillation:
    Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you forgot to take.

Storage conditions :

  • Store in the original outer packaging.

Contraindications:

  • Never take ACTISOUFRE 4 mg-50 mg per 10 ml, oral suspension or for nasal instillation in the following cases:
    - allergy to sulphur.
    In case of doubt, it is essential to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Possible interactions :

  • In order to avoid possible interactions between several medicines, you must systematically inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other treatment in progress.
    Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you can take or have recently taken any other medicine, even if it is a medicine obtained without a prescription.

Unwanted effects

Like all medicines, ACTISOUFRE 4 mg-50 mg per 10 ml, oral suspension or nasal instillation is likely to have side effects, although not everyone is likely to have them.
- Possible stomach upset when taken orally.
