Sucrose 2,8 g

Active substance: Acetylcysteine Common excipient: Saccharin sodium

Other excipients (specific to certain forms): Ascorbic acid, Citric acid anhydrous, Benzaldehyde, Citral, Dextrin, Gum arabic, Orange flavour, Orange essence, Orange juice, Mannitol, Blackberry flavour, Anhydrous sodium carbonate, Sodium citrate, Sodium citrate, Dextrin, Sorbitol, Triacetin, Vanillin

Warning

This medicine should only be used in cases of chronic bronchitis on the advice of a doctor.

Precautions are necessary in case of stomach or duodenum ulcer.

Do not use cough suppressants in addition to this medicine without the advice of your doctor or pharmacist.

If you develop a fever, secretions that last more than a few days or become discoloured, consult your doctor.

The sachets contain a significant amount of sugar (sucrose).

Fertility, pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy:

The effect of this medication during pregnancy is not well known. The evaluation of the possible risk linked to its use is individual: ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.

Breastfeeding:

The use of this drug is possible during breastfeeding.

How to use ACETYLCYSTEINE BIOGARAN

This medicine may be taken with or without meals.

The tablet and contents of the sachet should be dissolved in half a glass of water.

Usual dosage :

  • Adults and children over 7 years: 1 tablet or 1 sachet, 3 times daily.

  • Children aged 2 to 7 years: 1 tablet or 1 sachet, twice a day.

The treatment can be stopped as soon as the symptoms improve. Its duration should not exceed 8 to 10 days without medical advice.

Advice

Smoking, or being exposed to other people's smoke, is a major obstacle to the evacuation of mucus.

It is necessary to fight against the dryness of the ambient air (humidifier...) to avoid the drying of secretions. It is also recommended to drink a lot.

In the elderly or young children, the inability to evacuate sputum may justify the help of a physiotherapist, on medical prescription.
