Doliprane 500 mg, box of 16 capsules

Doliprane 500 mg, box of 16 capsules, contains acetaminophen. It is indicated for pain and/or fever, such as headaches, flu-like symptoms, and toothaches.

For adults and children weighing more than 27 kg (approximately 8 years of age and older).

Dosage for the pediatric population

- For children, it is essential to follow the dosages based on the child’s weight and therefore to choose an appropriate dosage form.

The approximate ages based on weight are provided for informational purposes only. The recommended daily dose of acetaminophen is approximately 60 mg/kg/day, divided into 4 or 6 doses, which is approximately 15 mg/kg every 6 hours or 10 mg/kg every 4 hours.

- For children weighing 27 to 40 kg (approximately 8 to 13 years old), the dosage is 1 500-mg capsule per dose, to be repeated as needed after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 capsules per day.

- For children weighing 41 to 50 kg (approximately 12 to 15 years old), the dosage is 1 500 mg capsule per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 4 hours, not to exceed 6 capsules per day.

- For adults and children weighing more than 50 kg (ages 15 and up): The usual single dose is 1 to 2 500-mg capsules per dose, to be repeated as needed after at least 4 hours.

It is generally not necessary to exceed 3 g of acetaminophen per day, or 6 capsules per day.

However, in cases of more severe pain, the maximum dose may be increased to 4 g per day, or 8 capsules per day.

Always wait at least 4 hours between doses.
