Dosage of Niquitin 21 mg/24 h transdermal device

Niquitin 21 mg/24 h is intended for adults over 15 years of age. The dosage depends on the level of tobacco dependence, which can be assessed by the Fagerström test or by the number of cigarettes consumed per day.

Depending on how you feel, the dose can be increased in case of "withdrawal" or decreased in case of signs of overdose.

The treatment takes place in 3 periods, with an initial period of 3 to 4 weeks which aims to stop smoking. This is followed by a follow-up treatment in order to consolidate this cessation and to start nicotine withdrawal and end with therapeutic withdrawal. This last stage allows you to stop smoking.

All these 3 stages last 3 months but this duration can vary according to the individual response.

If the urge to smoke appears while taking Niquitin 21 mg/24 h, consult your doctor who will guide you towards the use of oral substitutes (Niquitin 2 mg gum or Niquitin 2 mg tablets).

Treatment with Niquitin 21 mg/24 h should not exceed 6 months.
