What is this medicine used for?

This medicine contains vitamin B12. It is recommended for two distinct indications:

It is indicated in the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency due to a lack of absorption

- biermer's disease,

- ablation of the stomach or part of the intestine,

- imerslund's disease, and in this case it should be administered by intramuscular injection.

It is indicated for the treatment of anemia due to insufficient dietary intake of vitamin B12 in strict vegans for more than 4 years (diet without meat, dairy products, eggs or fish) and in this case it should be administered orally (drinkable ampoule).

When should this medicine not be used?

This medication MUST NOT BE USED in the following cases

a history of allergy to vitamin B12 and related substances (cobalamins)

in case of malignant tumor.

How to use this medication?

Dosage

In all cases, strictly adhere to your doctor's prescription.

By intramuscular injection in the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency:

As an initial treatment: one ampoule per day or three times a week, by intramuscular injection, i.e. 10 ampoules in total.

In maintenance treatment: one ampoule by intramuscular injection per month.

Orally in the treatment of anemia due to insufficient dietary intake of vitamin B12 in strict vegans: pour the contents of the ampoule into a glass of water

As an initial treatment: one ampoule per day for 15 days to 1 month.

In maintenance treatment: one phial every 10 days.

Mode and way of administration

Intramuscular and oral injection.

Allergic reactions in particular:

itching,

eczema,

urticaria,

skin redness,

edema that may be severe,

Possible red coloring of the urine.
