Verrufilm solution for topical application is a medication for the treatment of plantar warts, common hand warts and mosaic warts.
The active ingredients in Verrufilm solution are lactic acid (16.7 g) and salicylic acid (16.7 g) per 100 g of solution for topical application. Verrufilm also contains castor oil and collodion. For maximum effectiveness, Verrufilm should be reapplied every day, preferably in the evening, for around 8 weeks. To avoid the risk of systemic transmission, Verrufilm should not be used over a large surface area.
Start by carefully cleaning and drying the area to be treated. Using a spatula, apply Verrufilm solution to the wart, avoiding any overlap with healthy skin (you can protect it beforehand by applying a neutral varnish). Every 2 to 3 days, gently rub the treated area with a cardboard file or pumice stone before applying Verrufilm, avoiding any bleeding and removing the rough, superficial part of the wart. If bleeding occurs, avoid using Verrufilm for 2 to 3 days.
