Dosage
The dosage of paracetamol depends on the child's weight; the ages are given for information purposes.
If you do not know the child's weight, you should weigh the child in order to give the most suitable dose.
Paracetamol is available in many dosages, allowing treatment to be adapted to the weight of each child.
For adults and children weighing more than 50 kg (from about 15 years of age), the usual dosage is ½ to 1 1000 mg tablet per dose, to be repeated as needed after at least 4 hours.
It is generally not necessary to exceed 3 g of paracetamol per day, i.e. 3 tablets per day.
However, in case of more intense pain, and on the advice of your doctor, the total dose may be increased to 4 g per day, i.e. 4 tablets per day.
However:
- doses above 3 g of paracetamol per day require medical advice.
- NEVER TAKE MORE THAN 4 GRAMS OF PARACETAMOL A DAY (taking into account all medicines containing paracetamol in their formula).
Always keep an interval of at least 4 hours between doses.
In cases of severe kidney disease (severe renal failure), doses should be spaced 8 hours apart and the total dose should not exceed 3 tablets per day (3 g).
If you feel that the effect of PARACETAMOL SANDOZ 1 g, scored tablet is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor or pharmacist
How to administer
Oral use.
The tablets should be swallowed as they are, if necessary after breaking them in half, with a drink (e.g. water, milk, fruit juice).
In addition, if your child has a fever of more than 38.5°C, you can improve the effectiveness of the drug treatment by taking the following measures
- uncover your child,
- have your child drink,
- do not leave your child in a warm place.
Frequency of administration
Systematic intake helps to avoid oscillations in pain or fever.
In children, they should be regularly spaced, including at night, preferably 6 hours apart, and at least 4 hours apart.
In adults, they should be spaced at least 4 hours apart.
In case of severe kidney disease (severe renal failure), the intakes should be spaced at least 8 hours apart.

Contraindications
Never take PARACETAMOL SANDOZ 1 g, scored tablet in the following cases:
- known allergy to paracetamol, or to one of the other constituents,
- severe liver disease,
- intolerance or allergy to gluten, because of the presence of wheat starch (gluten).

Special warnings
In case of overdose or if you take too much by mistake, consult your doctor immediately.
This medicine contains paracetamol. Other medicines contain paracetamol. Do not combine them, so as not to exceed the recommended daily dose (see Dosage).
Precautions
If pain persists for more than 5 days, or fever for more than 3 days, or in case of insufficient efficacy or any other sign, do not continue treatment without your doctor's advice.
In case of serious liver or kidney disease, it is necessary to consult your doctor before taking paracetamol.
