Directions for use Acetylcysteine Mylan 200mg Oily cough 20 sachets

This medicine is taken orally. Each sachet should be dissolved in half a glass of water. For adults and children over 7 years of age, the recommended dose is 600 mg per day, i.e. 3 sachets divided into 3 doses (1 sachet per dose taken 3 times a day). For children aged 2 to 7, the recommended dose is 400 mg per day, i.e. 1 sachet per dose taken 2 times a day.

Without the advice of a health professional, treatment is limited to 8 to 10 days. However, if you feel that the effect of Acetylcysteine Mylan 200 mg is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions for use

You need to maintain productive coughs, which are a fundamental part of bronchopulmonary defence. For this reason, the combination of bronchial muco-modifiers with cough suppressants and secretion-drying substances is irrational. You should not take cough suppressants or bronchial secretion-drying drugs while taking Acetylcysteine Mylan 200 mg.

Take this oral solution with caution if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer, are on a low-sugar diet or have diabetes.

During pregnancy, it is preferable not to take Acetylcysteine Mylan 200 mg. If you discover during treatment that you are pregnant, contact your doctor as soon as possible, as only he or she can decide whether or not to continue treatment.

If you are breast-feeding, it is possible to continue treatment. However, always ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Containing an azoic coloring agent, this medicine may cause allergic reactions.

Contraindications

In case of known allergy to any of the components of this medicine, you must never use Acetylcysteine Mylan 200 mg.

This oral solution is not recommended for infants under 2 years of age, as it may aggravate bronchial congestion. The same applies to subjects with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary diseases).

If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects

Acetylcysteine Mylan 200 mg may cause undesirable effects. In some people, particularly infants and those unable to produce effective sputum, it may aggravate bronchial congestion.

This drug may cause allergic skin reactions such as itching, rash, hives and facial swelling. It can also cause digestive disorders, including nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and stomach upset. In this case, you should reduce the dosage of the oral solution.

If symptoms worsen, or if you notice any other suspicious signs, stop taking this medication. Consult a doctor for reassessment of treatment.
