Myleugyne LP 150 mg is an extended-release ovule indicated for the local treatment of mycosis of the vulva and/or vagina which may be superinfected.
Myleugyne ovule for the treatment of vaginal mycosis
Myleugyne LP 150 mg is formulated with econazole nitrate, an antifungal and antibacterial agent, at 150 mg per sustained-release ovule.
It is recommended for the local treatment of vulvovaginal mycoses, whether or not superinfected by Gram+ bacteria. Mycoses are conditions caused by microscopic fungi.
Myleugyne LP 150 mg ovule is for vaginal use only. The ovule should be inserted deep into the vagina, preferably in a lying position. The easiest way to do this is to lie on your back, with your knees bent and apart.
Caution: do not use Myleugyne LP 150 mg sustained-release ova if you are using a latex diaphragm or spermicidal products.
The usual dosage for Myleugyne LP 150 mg is to insert 1 ovule in the evening at bedtime, as a single administration.
In the case of recurrent or intractable mycosis, assuming there are contributing factors: 1 ovule in the evening at bedtime and 1 ovule the following morning.
Contraindications
Never use this extended-release ovule if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients it contains.
It may be used during pregnancy only on the advice of your doctor. It may be used during breast-feeding.
Possible side effects
As with all medicines, this product may cause non-systematic side effects such as :
- application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching and erythema (redness of the skin);
contact dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) and urticaria.
- Use a pH-neutral or alkaline soap for intimate cleansing (acidity promotes the proliferation of fungi);
- Treatment should be accompanied by hygiene advice (wear cotton undergarments, avoid vaginal showers, avoid wearing internal tampons during treatment, etc.) and, wherever possible, the elimination of factors that may contribute to the disease;
- Do not interrupt treatment during menstruation;
Treatment of the partner should be discussed on a case-by-case basis;
- To treat vulvar or perianal extensions of mycosis, it is recommended to combine gynecological ovules with an antifungal agent applied topically.
