Daktarin 2% Powder is a local antifungal medication recommended for the treatment of inguinal and/or interdigital (between the fingers) infections caused by dermatophytes (fungi) or yeasts (candidiasis). The active ingredient in Daktarin 2% powder is miconazole nitrate, dosed at 2 g per 100 g of powder. In the case of candidiasis of the inguinal and intergluteal folds, antifungal treatment of a possible digestive and/or vaginal focus is essential to avoid recurrence.
The average duration of treatment with Daktarin 2% Powder is 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the area affected by mycosis and the extent of the infection. Daktarin 2% Powder is reserved for regular twice-daily cutaneous application until lesions have completely disappeared. The areas to be treated should be powdered, sweeping over the entire affected area and its perimeter, then the powder is gently spread over the skin, after cleansing and drying. Treatment should be continued for at least a week after all signs and symptoms have disappeared.
Remember: in the case of foot infections, it's important to also apply Daktarin 2% powder to socks and shoes, once a day. In all cases, make sure you change clothes regularly to avoid the risk of re-infection.
Wash your hands thoroughly after using Daktarin 2% Powder. Regular use of this medicine throughout the treatment is essential for its effectiveness.
