Hyalone Solution de hyaluronate de sodium 1,5 % seringue 4 ml is a medical device for intra-articular injection of hyaluronic acid. It comes in a 4 ml pre-filled syringe containing 60 mg sodium hyaluronate (1.5%).

Role of synovial fluid

Hyaluronic acid is an essential constituent of synovial fluid. Secreted by the synovial membrane, it is constantly present in the joint space. Its viscoelastic properties give it a major role within the joint: it provides lubrication and acts as a shock absorber. It protects the cartilage and all surrounding tissues, preserving joint function.

An arthritic joint is characterized by degeneration of the cartilage, affecting the integrity of the joint. The synovial fluid loses its viscoelasticity, joint function is affected, pain appears and mobility may be reduced.

An injection of hyaluronic acid into the joint restores the viscoelastic properties of the synovial fluid, relieving pain and improving mobility.

Hyalone for osteoarthritis of the knee and hip

Hyalone is a viscoelastic solution containing sodium hyaluronate. This medical device is used as a temporary substitute for synovial fluid in degenerative joint disease, such as osteoarthritis of the knee and hip, where functional changes in synovial fluid occur without active synovitis.
